Jergens Tan Before And After

Speech on the Reform of the school and school

First of all thanks for inviting me and for organizing this important meeting.
I am happy to participate as in schools and universities is almost impossible for us to enforce our arguments even though our boys continue in all universities to participate in Tuscany in debates and to organize informational gazebo.
If you've read these days even absurd things have happened: how the youth movement we have been fined € 148 because we had organized a gazebo in front of Engineering. It was not possible to organize it in as an institution is illegally occupied, and then we had to go out.
The crazy thing is that then a public building can be occupied illegally without any problems, but if we organize a gazebo, although I must say, not in front of the option but we are fined, that is in complete lawlessness who is punished is the one who wants lawlessness runs out!
But above all thanks to having organized this meeting because after yesterday's demonstration in Florence where I only heard a mountain of hot air on the school made a bad sociology, bad education, bad publicity and bad politics above all I really need this meeting.
However, as I said I was invited to speak but as the university's Law 133 provides for only two articles about it, 16 and 66, I decided to set my comments on the evils of our academic system and the reasons why it is urgent rapid cure.
fact now is a time when the country is a great opportunity to open debate on 'universities.
If we want to make this choice, we must do it with courage; must tell us everything and then say that our university is sick, it works badly, tell us that inside there are areas of excellence with so many people who give so much and take very little, as the graduate students and researchers, but the institution As this is sick, can not go on like this, it needs to be restructured.
It 's true that there is a problem of resources but the disease is far more serious: there is none in the Italian top 200 universities in the world! You realize, that Italy is the country where they were born today is not the first university in the first 200.
Today the number of professors, associates and researchers is almost equal, then there is a structure in the cylinder and not a pyramid structure as in any respectable academic.
The university works when there is mobility: a teacher today is born and dies in the usual university, we first studied, graduated, is a doctorate, then become a researcher and professor from the die. This makes it inevitable that you create patronage, baron, and that there is never a debate on the research beyond the usual academic walls.
and then talk to our scientists, ask them if they're all good. We will respond with are not all alike, many of them are not deserving, but are sponsored by the caste of professors who then decide on their future and their assignments. Our "barons", so called members of the caste of academics, in this way cause damage to the whole system: they bring along very often the less able and this should not happen again, it is not right and there we can afford.
For this reason, many teachers themselves take to the streets to protest, do not protest in defense of the university as it would have us believe, but only protest in defense of their privileges.
However, the government, feeling the words of Sen. Quagliariello, is available especially in comparison with young researchers and students who are our future.
I'll do an example to explain the situation of our academic system: if we have a bathtub with a hole that will lose water, the solution can not therefore be to add another heater or third at the end of our bath water will always lose!
The Italian university is located precisely in this situation, we have 24 months to resolve.
But to better understand the failure of the system you want to put knowledge of some data: •
know how many degree courses in Italy? 5000
• These include (and no joke) even by the Science of Wellness dog and cat
a course in Aquaculture • •
the average university students in a class in Italy is of 8-9 students, this course is discovered by dividing the number of students enrolled for the courses that we have 150,000 teachings

• • The number of full professors is becoming higher than that of young researchers
But according to you, in this way, 'Italian university can move forward or is there a need to change?
know how many university professors have increased over the past 10 years? Or by following the university reform Berlinguer?
50,000 to 62,000, a rise of 24% of teachers compared with an increase of 7% of the student population. What does this mean? The university professors are doing for themselves, a kind of social safety net, and do not do it for students, for research, for business or for our nation, and they do so at the expense of us all!
So the question: all this has to be changed or not?
L 'Article 66 of Law 133 provides for a turnover, that for every 100 people that if they retire it will be taken 20.
Now, however, reasons to end a career average professor earns young as 3 or 4 well-paid researchers. So
a serious proposal that will be formalized in the coming months is this: for every teacher who retires to 3 or 4 young researchers, so instead of creating 20 new full professors, with the usual 60-80 researchers assume money in this so will benefit from the research, a real hope to our young and brightest recreate the pyramid is the foundation of every university system worthy of the name.
In this way we intend to help our researchers, we no longer need him to do for charity!
I think it is important to change course: we must not put at the center only the problem of funding, however, do not deny that there is a problem. On
precarious to say the situation is untenable, now a deputy in the competition 40 years but each researcher or university professor knows who is most productive in terms of research and publications only up to 35 years, and then on average we stabilize the contracts people who are already in the declining phase of their academic ability.
Then you have to do is just put these young people in a position to have a good time to test paid up to 30 maybe 35 years maximum, and then give him a moment of serious selection based on merit so that then still be spent on labor market.
The selection is made and must be done before we can not continue to tease our kids. And
about Art 16 of Law 133 what to say: first there's the chance to become the foundations and there is no obligation.
And then, you know that Italy is a country in Western Europe, which attracts less private funding for research? In this respect, a country we seem to really post socialist economy. We also
the public should be able to attract private funding, because the university must be able to help develop the country, what should not happen is that small and medium industry will face its internal research facility therefore completely independent of the our university. But considering how the situation of our universities can not by now I was wrong.
But if we said this evening that there are too many degree courses, there is too much attention to teachers and not students, who are privileged "barons" and not the young professors or researchers, I think we should first change the structure of this university that do not work as shown and then, but only at that point, we have to solve the problem of funding, or we may only cover the "wrong ideas".
These days young people are mobilizing against their future, but if the Italian university continues to be disqualified, what then?
Ordinary people continue to go in our universities increasingly unskilled, while those who can afford it will go to those elite that unfortunately we are all beyond national borders.
We now must find the courage to try, we are faced with a historic occasion, we have a broad popular mandate and fly in the polls, if we do not try it now when we do?
